Cocoa Butter Vaseline

Hola todos,

So while I was in Limburg my lips ripped or something. It hurt so bad! I didn't have a good chap stick with me so I had to buy a new one. I got the Cocoa Butter Vaseline, which is pocket size and I love the cocoa flavor :)

- 2 euros
- smells really nice
- smooth and works amazingly well - healed my lips right away!
- not sticky
- soft lips (hehehehehe)

I definitely recommend this :) !

Nails

Dear all,

This morning I was googling summery nail art. Then I found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LXtajmi0Mw&feature=player_embedded on this website: http://glamgirl.webklik.nl/page/nagelslakken

Inspirated by this video, I did it myself :)

What you need; base coat, white and multiple colors.

- apply 2 layers of base coat
- apply 2 layers of white polish
- take 3-6 colors that match, wipe off the brush so it doesn't drip on your nail, apply fine dots.
- apply a layer of clear coat
It's actually not that hard, 'cause even if you do mess up the dots, like I did on a lot of nails, it looks fine. It's almost like a painting to me :)

Definitely worth the try!

Was it worth it?

Hola todos,

After a week long of testing, I decided I should treat myself to a manicure. A friend of mine got acryl nails and it sounded like something I wanted to try too. Hehe :)
I got a nice amount of money long due from my ex-employer so I didn't have to feel guilty at all...

The manicure guy was really nice... but spoke barely any Dutch haha. It took him an hour and a half to get my nails done. He put all sorts of powders and polishes on my nails and gosh! at some point I said; could we please take a break?! hahaha. Couldn't sit still any longer :)

Anyway, the result is really nice. My nails are French manicured, and it will stay on for 3 to 4 weeks. You can go back to redo it, for another 27euros (this was 35 by the way) or you can take them off for 10 euros... mmm..... Still thinking about what I wanna do hehe =]

The only thing is, I can't put any pressure on the tips of my nails. That really hurts :(
and I can't pick up any small or thin things, including money, hair clips and paper.

Was it worth it? Or is it too much trouble? I'll talk about it again next week hehe :)

Something I noticed...

Dear lovely readers,

A quick update today.
My Dutch midterm went well!
Just got home and ready to put my head in them books again :/
I have three tests tomorrow which I really need to study for...

Since we don't follow any lessons during midterms-week, nobody really cares about their looks. I see people wearing sweatpants, make-upless faces, hair tied up and unbrushed, people with glasses instead of their contacts.... What's going on?!
(I'll try to post a picture of someone wearing sweatpants as soon as I get the chance, hehe!)

Eyebrow Plucking

Hellooooo,

Don’t we all pluck our eyebrows, girls? I don’t think we realize that these annoying hairs won’t grow back forever. There will be a time when they don’t, and you’ll have no eyebrows left! (That’s why a lot of older women have eyebrow-penciled eyes in stead of real ones). Why do we create really thin eyebrows if our ‘natural’ ones look just fine? I think I’m gonna pluck less than before just for the sake of the future J

Hema Blondspray... ?

Hellluuuuh!

So before I went on vacation I bought a spray for my hair that will lighten it about 1 to 2 shades. I got all excited because it was only 3 euros and it should be easy to use. What you do is you need to have towel-wet hair, spray as much as you can on your hair (it's waterperoxide so watch out!), comb it through and let it dry (the blond effect will work at its best when the sun's out!).

What you'll need:
- the spray (I bought Hema Blondspray)
- an old towel
- a comb that you're willing to give up haha
- sun
- disposable plastic gloves

And yet again, I can't find a picture to show you what my spray looks like.... -sigh-

I'm probably going to use it tomorrow and when I do, I'll post some pictures! :)

XOxo

Gray Nailpolish!!!

Whaaaaaaaaaaa hello readers!
I finally managed to buy gray nailpolish :)
Yay, I'm so happy! A brand (Miss Sporty) was on sale - 2 shades for 3 euros, so I took this opportunity to buy gray and black nailpolish (never had gray before, black was getting too thick to dry...).
This color is pretty dark, and one layer isn't good enough because the texture is so thin. You should go for at least two layers,... according to moi ;)

Essence Nailpolish Remover - Nail Hardening

Hey there guys!
I'm sorry I haven't posted anything in like...weeeeks. I've been busy working this summer! I got a job at a clothing store in town, and I also have one at a farm. What I do is peeling dried skins off of tulip bulbs. Interesting, huh? Nah. I think it's a job we Dutch people only know of...

So anyway, while I was working at that farm, I was talking to the girl next to me. And seriously, you spend the whole day peeling so I basically know her life from A to Z now (haha). She told me about a nailpolish remover she recently bought from Essence. (Essence is a brand that they sell in Holland at a certain pharmacy). It, of course, cleans your nails and removes your nailpolish but it seriously makes them hard! I bought it yesterday and you know what's even more great? It has a scent! Strawberry-vanilla :-D

So I really recommend it to you alllll!

Be different!

Have you ever seen a teenaged girl wear lipstick? I can tell you I haven't. But why? Has the lipgloss taken over the lipstick at this point in time? Well, if that really is true, I'm just gonna be different! You should really take a look in your mom's make-up bag - you'll find great blushes, lipsticks, you name it. As I looked in my mom's bag, I found a purple [hardly used] lipstick - Ohemghee I love it guys!

This lipstick is from Miss Helen so you can purchase it at Hema for a couple of euros.
The one I have is a dark, shimmery kind of purple. If you look at it, it's a pretty dramatic color but when I put it on it was lighter than I expected. Of course it's a matter of putting on a little or a great amount.

P.s. - lipstick will last longer if you put on chapstick first!

Xoxo,
Rachelle

Make your own mask!

Planning a girls' night? Or just in the mood for a mask, but you haven't got one at home? Feel like experimenting or just making a mess in your kitchen? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you better start reading!

You will need:
a banana
honey
yogurt
[egg is possible]
Cut the banana into small pieces and throw them in a blender, or if you don't have one - mash it up!
Throw some honey and yogurt in a bowl with the mashed banana, and mix it.

Put a thick layer on your face but watch out for your eyes. If you get some in your eye - rinse with water.
This mask should stay on for at least fifteen minutes, maybe even thirty if you've got time. Remove the mask with some warm water. Your skin should now be soft and hydrated.

Love,
Rachelle

We tried it! - We advice you to use a liquid kind of honey, because the thick one doesn't blend properly.
